Biography
I am passionate about uplifting and transforming the lives of immigrant/refugee women, especially women, who are faced with disruption and transition in their lives. This includes transitioning to an unfamiliar environment and culture, transitioning to a new work environment, as well as addressing its impact on personal relationships.
My coaching specifically addresses challenges faced by:
• Recent Immigrants
• Foreign Workers
• Families of Foreign Workers
• Minorities
Coming from a multicultural background, having experience as a working parent, and coping with special needs in my personal life has made me especially aware of these challenges.
My coaching process involves intentional conversations, applying inquiry and feedback to support self-directed learning and increased self-awareness. My approach encourages a positive transformation in perceptions and behaviors that help overcome challenges, and improve quality of life. This approach is built on the principle of self-directed neuroplasticity, with a specific emphasis on wellbeing and resilience.
I have a Professional Certificate in Leadership Coaching for Organizational Wellbeing, from George Mason University (GMU), VA, and a Master of Science degree in Organization Development and Knowledge Management (ODKM), also from GMU, VA.
I transitioned to coaching from a career as a Trainer and Instructional Design Specialist, with several years of experience in adult learning and working with individuals from diverse and multicultural backgrounds.
My other interests include art, music, and writing. I have also completed courses in Art Therapy to incorporate art in my coaching if a client desires.
